Born a Writer
I have loved writing for as long as I can remember. I have always been shy and not so good at expressing my feelings. Writing is my outlet. When I lived at home and my mom and I would get in an arguement, I would write her a letter telling her how angry I was, or if I was sad, I would write a poem and it would make me feel better. From second grade on, teachers always encouraged my writing and the compliments really boosted my confidence.
Becoming a pro
The first work I ever had published was a poem called Boredom. I wrote it in my 7th grade literature class and my classmates voted for it to be included in the school's literary magazine later that year.
In 8th grade, I had two more poems published. Both were selected from a poetry contest I entered and appeared in two different books complied by the International Library of Poetry.
In high school, I was first a journalist and later editor in chief of my high school newspaper The Crimson Crier. In additon to writing and editing, I also maintained the newspaper's Web site, my first taste of web design.
Currently, I spend most of my time writing for work and school. At work I write a little bit of everything, mostly articles for the weekly, but I also update press releases and I am presently writing a proposal to the CEO to allow me to design and impliment a classified section on our intranet.
